Requirements

  • A 2nd-year student, ideally studying Textile Technology, Fashion, or a related field that requires a 12-month placement, starting July 2025.
  • Previous experience in garment fitting or textile-related roles would be advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
  • Self-motivated and committed to developing your technical and professional skills.
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Experience: Work closely with Garment Technologists and Buying teams who will guide you through the technical process, equipping you with the critical skills needed to excel in a garment technology career.
  • Fit Session Participation: Attend fit sessions where you'll take notes and offer solutions, contributing to discussions as your knowledge and confidence grow.
  • Sample Management: Book samples into the Technical Services team, take measurements, and organize fit sessions to ensure an efficient flow of garments through the department.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate with suppliers by providing clear, concise comments on each sample, all while collaborating with Garment Technologists for advice and guidance.
