The ideal candidate for the 2024 Belk Internship Program - Planning is a rising college senior, authorized to work in the US, with strong academic performance, leadership skills, a solid business background, previous retail experience, and proficiency in Excel and MS Office applications.

The candidate will learn to manage a multi-million-dollar business, analyze sales trends, generate reports, participate in planning meetings, optimize inventory, and provide recommendations to maximize business opportunities.

You will focus on analyzing business trends while assisting and shadowing your Planner. Planning Interns will learn key areas of the role including but not limited to developing seasonal merchandise financial plans, by-door plans, pricing optimization and in-depth analysis of product performance. The Internship Program provides exposure to senior leaders, professional development workshops, structured assignments, and social events over the 10 weeks in the Summer. Interns will leave understanding the complexity of big box department stores and the excitement of the retail and ecommerce industry. The internship will be hybrid this summer. You will primarily work remotely, but we will bring you onsite to Charlotte a few times over the summer.</li></ul>
