  • Education/Experience:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree
  • Preferred Degree Paths: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Management, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, International Business, Statistics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel

Responsibilities

  • This will involve shadowing Operations Managers in their daily duties and learning about the multitude of inputs to running a successful and fluid operation. This includes activities like morning planning meetings where terminal operations are planned and assessed, followed by conversations with Terminal contractors that execute our operating plan. While at our Intermodal and Automotive terminals, successful interns will assist in observing ramp operations and trends, applying their knowledge to provide input and value where possible. Effective operations management requires the ability to communicate effectively with numerous stakeholders, from terminal operators to draymen (Truck drivers) operating on the facility. Additionally, strong analytical skills are necessary to assess metric performance in real time and over time to assess terminal performance and determine action steps for improvement.
  • In addition to daily operations activities, Interns will have the opportunity to participate in Departmental meetings and initiatives that may span beyond the Atlanta operation.
