Requirements

  • Required Education:
  • Must be pursuing a PhD in Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar area of focus.
  • Must have completed a bachelor's degree and/or it's equivalent
  • Required qualifications:
  • Scientific programming experience in Python and familiarity with a deep learning framework such as PyTorch.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning and computer vision.
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Familiarity with ML topics such as representation learning, interpretability, and feature disentanglement.
  • Familiarity with high-content imaging data such as cell painting, and optical pooled screening.
  • Experience in training large-scale deep learning models.
  • Track record of tackling challenging biological problems with advanced computational methods
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Train representation learning models on large phenotypic screening data sets
  • Evaluate the quality of learned representations for biological discovery, and their ability to reduce the effect of unwanted confounders.
  • Develop methods for interpreting biological phenotypes.
  • Explore representation learning on novel imaging modalities.
