Requirements

  • Required Education:
  • Must be currently pursuing a PhD
  • Required Majors:
  • Bioinformatics, Genomics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science or other relevant subject matter.
  • Required skills:
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks for machine learning inference (e.g. pytorch)
  • Experience with single cell RNA-seq / ATAC-seq analysis.
  • Familiarity with fundamental ML concepts and interpretation techniques such as transformers, saliency maps
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLM) and retrieval based augmentations (RAG).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.
  • Knowledge of GWAS and related genetics-based analyses

Responsibilities

  • Develop techniques to use LLM to represent biological concepts.
  • Predict the impact of non-coding variation using LLM.
  • Benchmark LLMs on biological knowledge representations
  • Participate in talks, journal clubs and general research laboratory activities
  • Contribute to at least one publication resulting from the summer work.
