Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering undergraduates who have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework at a university, recent grads within two years, current graduate students (MS or PhD).
  • Required Education:
  • Required majors: Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Relevant specialties and interests (pertinent, but not required) include mechatronics, microfluidics, product design

Responsibilities

  • The intern will be assigned a project associated with the Sequencing Instrument development program and will be responsible for its design, prototyping, testing and documentation. Day-to-day task work will range from CAD design, prototype fabrication, prototype testing, presentation of designs and test results and documentation in the form of drawings and test reports. Typically, the intern will be assigned a mentor from the engineering staff.
