What is the duration of the AbbVie Finance Internship Program?
The AbbVie Finance Internship Program lasts for 10-12 weeks during the summer.
What types of functional areas will I be working in as an intern?
Interns will have the opportunity to work within four functional areas: Commercial, Operations, Research & Development, and Corporate. Each area includes various sub-functions such as Financial Analysis, Budgets, Plans and Forecasts, Reporting & Controls, and more.
What are the minimum qualifications required to apply for this internship?
Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027. They should have completed at least three accounting courses by graduation, demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have leadership experience in a school or student organization.
What is the preferred qualification for applicants?
Preferred qualifications include a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026, a dual major or minor in a related field, experience with data visualization tools, exposure to Big Data, completion of Excel or data visualization certificate programs, and previous internship or related experience. A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher is also preferred.
Where will the majority of the Finance Interns be placed?
The majority of Finance Interns will be placed in Lake County, IL, although there is a possibility of being placed in other U.S. locations based on business needs.

Interns will gain valuable skills through meaningful assignments and professional development activities, including networking opportunities and participation in social and philanthropy events, as well as the AbbVie Vitality health and wellness program.

Yes, AbbVie strongly considers high-performing interns for the Finance Development Program (FDP), which includes four rotations over two years to prepare individuals for financial management roles.
