Responsibilities

  • - Have an opportunity to benefit from leadership development, professional mentorship and technical training in a functional area of the People business.
  • - Be exposed to the vision, mission and strategic objectives of our People function as well as our larger Walmart/Sam's Club business strategy and operations.
  • - Learn about numerous People-led initiatives and the various roles within Global People.
  • - Become aware of associate needs and participate in discussions to address identified gaps.
  • - Manage key milestones and deliverables related to their assigned internship project.
  • - Take initiative, remain bold in their ideas and actively participate in all discussions.
  • - Conduct internal and external research/benchmarking as appropriate.
  • - Partner with other associates across teams/functions to identify solutions and present recommendations.
  • - Build their network of People professionals across the enterprise and receive direct exposure to several People leaders, including the CPO/CHRO of all business segments, and exclusive exposure to the People Leadership Team.
  • - Receive support and guidance from a host of individuals including mentors and a dedicated Program Manager who will host cohort-specific professional and social events and learning opportunities for the Global People interns.
  • - Create life-long relationships with other interns through company-wide events sponsored by the Corporate Intern Program. i.e. Community Volunteering, Distribution Center Tours, Store Tours, Community Events and our annual softball game against the executives. These activities allow you to learn more about Walmart and socialize with interns from across the company.
