Requirements

  • University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:
  • University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
  • Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.
  • Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level
  • Strong familiarity with computer graphics and stereoscopy principles
  • Competency with Unity rendering engine, scripting API and HLSL shaders
  • Hands-on experience with VR/AR application development with Unity
  • High-degree of technical creativity with a passion for delivering the best possible user experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop prototype integrations of 3D rendering and display capabilities that can be evaluated on the da Vinci system’s high-resolution stereoscopic viewer.
  • Work with clinical and human factors engineers to structure, execute, analyze and summarize findings from user evaluations of functional prototypes.
  • Blend creative technical problem solving with practical software engineering
