Requirements

  • You will possess 5 G.C.S.Es or equivalent at grade 4 (C ) or above to include English (language), Maths and two science subjects (duel award sciences acceptable).
  • You must also meet the entry requirements for the Advanced Apprenticeship Framework.
  • You will be starting in November 2024 for a fixed 2 year 6 month term until May 2027.
  • Hours are 37.5 per week, 7.5 hours per day worked flexibly between the hours of 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday subject to terms and conditions under the NHS Agenda for Change.
  • To achieve the qualification requires participation and completion of a rigorous training and competency program (level 3 apprenticeship standard/pharmacy technician integrated) covering the various areas of pharmacy including dispensaries, wards, production units and pharmacy stores.
  • Over the rotation period you will gain the skills to accurately assemble medicines for prescriptions, provide medicines management for patients on a ward, thereby contributing to a safe and effective pharmacy service.

Responsibilities

  • In this role you will train as and complete the necessary qualifications to register and work as a pharmacy technician.
  • This Advanced Apprentice post is designed to give the trainee the technical experience and knowledge to be able to register and work as a Pharmacy Technician on completion of the two year training post and final assessment.
