Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours a week) over summer.
  • Have a basic Understanding of Static loads.
  • Must have some knowledge on how to use a 3D Design tool (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia, Unigraphics)
  • Ability to work quickly and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder or a protected individual as defined 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be able to obtain the required authorization from either the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking an Avionics Mechanical Design Intern who is eager to participate in innovative/unique aerospace vehicle design activities. For approximately 12 weeks you will be immersed in our incredible culture and work on challenging and meaningful projects that directly relate to company goals. The hands-on experience you will gain along with opportunities to engage with our exceptional executives, engineers, and other professionals will be incredibly valuable in shaping the foundation for your future.
  • This position is with the Avionics Mechanical Design Engineering group. The Avionics team is looking for an intern who is enthusiastic with a willingness to learn mechanical engineering connections in an electrical environment. This individual would be part of a dynamic avionics engineering team. This candidate will need to effectively work with multiple disciplines such as interiors, airframe, and avionics design. The scope of your role includes flight avionics hardware, LRUs, and flight instrumentation.
