Requirements

  • The standard qualifications of intern candidates are:
  • Rising sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate status or pursuing a Master's degree.
  • Must have at least 3.0 GPA.
  • Interest in the insurance industry.
  • Additional qualifications for the Catastrophe Analytics Intern:
  • Knowledge of Excel and data manipulation techniques.
  • Python programming skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Validate and analyze data through the use of catastrophe models.
  • Perform portfolio risk assessments.
  • Investigate new and innovative 3rd party data for use in underwriting process.
  • Support our event response function in case of a catastrophic event.
  • By the end of the program, the Catastrophe Analytics Intern will have:
  • Learned about commercial insurance.
  • Gained working knowledge of catastrophe models.
  • Developed skills in data manipulation and modeling.
