Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Must have completed 3 years of study at the time of the internship.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time, deadlines, keep track of steps, and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads, OpenRoads)
  • 1 cycle of internship experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Builds analytic and design skills.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects.
  • Train in civil site design, track design, overhead catenary systems (OCS) engineering, utilities, and drainage.
