Requirements

  • Writing experience with work samples, including published bylines, is required. Please include links to your work samples within your resume.
  • Candidates should be passionate about news and storytelling, self-motivated and able to multitask.
  • They must be able to function well in a fast-paced, high-volume professional and courteous environment.
  • Candidates should have keen understanding of how to spot and tell a great story.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 cumulative or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Responsibilities

  • Contributing to and writing original feature stories for CNN Digital
  • Reading, writing, and producing articles across wellness (fitness, food, exercise, sleep, mindfulness, and other health stories), science, travel, and style
  • Researching stories and building stories in CMS
  • Pitching story ideas
  • Going through the editing process and learning how we edit stories at CNN Digital
  • Learning how stories are crafted
  • Learning how we vet information, research and find sources
  • Learning how a story goes from an idea, through edit and onto CNN's digital platforms
  • Developing reporting and interview skills
  • Learning how to read scientific studies and breaking that down for a story
