Requirements

  • Essential Skills:
  • Strong technical background with a degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science or similar (2:1 minimum)
  • Good knowledge of algorithms, scripting and programming languages
  • Good knowledge of validation strategy through experimental approach
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex requirements into high quality solutions and digital platform development
  • Adaptable, organised, and able to prioritise multiple work streams
  • Desired Skills:
  • Experience in a simulation, analytical modelling, and/or design engineering role
  • Experience with Python/C++/C#/JavaScript/React
  • Experience in parametric and implicit CAD/Grasshopper
  • Experience in creatively solving complex scientific and engineering problems

Responsibilities

  • Solving complex multi-scale science and multi-physics engineering problems
  • Applying principles of physics, mathematics, engineering, materials, and data science to develop solvers for additive manufacturing process and component simulation using a variety of computational techniques e.g., PDE, FEA, CFD, DEM, MD, topology & Bayesian optimisation, surrogate modelling, physics-informed machine learning
  • Developing back-end and front-end of a computational design for AM platform
