Requirements

  • Stellar organization and planning skills
  • Prior experience / projects in strategic recommendations, building model cases and models, or similar analytical experiences
  • Experience and/or strong interest and passion for the digital/retail space; understanding of the landscape, key drivers, retail fundamentals
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and organizational planning skills, ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Self-starter and independent with willingness to “roll up your sleeves”; nimble and flexible
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and an expert in PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities

  • As Connected Commerce Strategy Intern, your responsibilities will include supporting the Omni convenience & Partnership strategic initiatives, helping shape future omni and partnership client experiences, and focus on researching the next initiatives we want to support our future strategy. As part of the broader strategic activities, you will support execution of the process and presentation builds, perform market and benchmarking research and analysis, construction of the narrative and presentations and work with the eCommerce organization to support long-range planning and presentation development.
  • Projects:
  • Develop and socialize broader industry themes and opportunities for innovation:
  • Leverage internal resources to keep the connected commerce team immersed in industry innovation, including retail-tech, commerce and consumer trends.
  • Author and publish a weekly digital digest outlining top headlines across industry publications, podcasts and videos.
  • Gain experience with presentation slide design and storytelling by shadowing the development of team strategies.
  • Build a strategy to localize and personalize our omni convenience experience:
  • Complete analysis of regional nuances in the Omni business and create a strategy that will allow business to meet diverse customer needs and expectations across cities, states, countries etc.
  • Support the team in developing a robust content personalization strategy to ensure a tailored and engaging experience for our diverse customer base across the US and CA.
  • Support the growth of our partnership businesses:
  • Deliver execution of program elements, including but not limited to: expansion, brand and merchandising opportunities, setting up dashboards, auditing payments/invoicing, fielding client service team questions.
  • Support day-to-day program building and relationships for existing platforms, including fielding brand queries and troubleshooting, and process optimization with Production team. Develop educational materials for internal and external partners and develop Sephora-specific insights.
  • Contribute to overall partnerships strategy recommendations and platform playbooks
  • Data Analysis:
  • Assist in conducting analyses of historical Omni demand patterns for beauty products across regional stores in the US and CA, with focus on discrepancies in demand patterns between different regions
  • Support the development of strategies to optimize inventory allocation across regions. Support the identification of key factors influencing demand, such as seasonality, promotions, and regional preferences.
  • Forecasting Support:
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of forecasting models to predict demand for specific products and categories at the regional level.
  • Inventory Alignment Assistance:
  • Support the implementation of strategies to align inventory levels with forecasted demand, with a focus on minimizing excess stock and reducing the risk of stockouts.
  • Collaborate with the team to assist in documenting technical requirements.
  • Content Personalization and Targeting:
  • Explore and contribute to strategies for personalized content and targeting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that personalized content aligns with regional demand and customer preferences.
  • Document best practices and needs of the personalization strategy.
  • Technology Exploration:
  • Contribute to the exploration and evaluation of technologies that enhance visibility into regional demand patterns and support content personalization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on tools providing real-time insights into inventory demand across regions.
  • Craft compelling and strategic presentations and narratives:
  • Manage presentation collaboration across teams, including finalizing elements to make cohesive and executive-ready presentations
  • Help build story lines and compelling presentations to socialize strategy and growth initiatives
  • Contribute to overall strategy recommendations and platform playbooks
