Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field from a four-year college or university
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
  • Proficiency in software tools commonly used in controls engineering (e.g., PLC programming software, HMI development tools).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of control systems for paper converting machinery.
  • Collaborate with senior controls engineers to create and modify control logic, HMI/SCADA interfaces, and PLC programming.
  • Participate in the documentation of control system designs, specifications, and user manuals.
  • Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts to identify and resolve control system issues in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of control systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Assist in commissioning and startup activities, ensuring proper functionality and performance of control systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute innovative ideas to improve the overall performance and efficiency of control systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in controls engineering.
