Requirements

  • Interns must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;
  • Previous internships are considered an asset;
  • Ideal candidates are analytical, creative, connected, and entrepreneurial;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail;
  • Strong desire to learn the Oil & Gas business;
  • Proven flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business conditions;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Preference will be given to a student who will be returning to university to finish their undergraduate degree following the completion of this work term;
  • Interns must be able and willing to relocate themselves to Houston for the entire duration of the work term;
  • Interns must be able to commit to a year-long work term starting May 20, 2024 to be considered for the program;
  • The successful candidate must comply with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing;
  • The successful candidate must provide satisfactory references and complete a Criminal Background Check; and
  • Works outdoors in open environment with extremes of heat and cold 5% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of facility processes, work groups, and overall function of the Damage Prevention Systems Team;
  • Participate in developing solutions to technical issues and verifying the implementation of these solutions
  • Prepare and present summary reports, performance metrics reports, graphical representations, and presentations, as required
  • Facilitate initiatives to drive continuous improvement and optimizations of our processes
  • Evaluate the performance of process systems (One Call System, ROW Inspections System, Digital Forms, etc.) by validating process conditions, performing calculations, modeling, and data analyses
  • Assist in the evaluation of the data performed on DOC surveys
  • Apply damage prevention theory to determine solutions, considering impacts of risk and safety
  • Evaluate One Call Data and responses from users to improve overall communication between operator and excavator
  • Complete and present an assigned project(s);
  • Attend internal/external meetings; and
  • Assist in various ad hoc requests as required in support of experienced Damage Prevention Specialists/Analysts, facility operations/maintenance or corporate initiatives.
