Requirements

  • Candidate is currently enrolled in a graduate level degree program.
  • Ideal candidates will have academic or work experience in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, OAC, FAW, SQL).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Oracle Analytics Cloud or PowerBI).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering accurate results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Has completed at least two years of college coursework
  • Is available to work full-time throughout the 10-week internship
  • Is eligible to work in the United States. This position is not accepting CPT.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate must participate in programming/seminars/meetings scheduled throughout the Abternship.
  • As an intern in Abt’s IT Enterprise Platform Department you will work with IT colleagues and stakeholders across Abt to make meaning out of Abt’s enterprise data by bringing new data and visualizations into Abt Business Analytics—the new business intelligence platform launched in December 2023.
  • Data Collection and Processing:
  • Collect and compile data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows.
  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing:
  • Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure consistency and eliminate errors.
  • Collaborate with team members to address data quality issues and anomalies.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization:
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights.
  • Create visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Statistical Analysis:
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze datasets and derive meaningful conclusions.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts to conduct more complex statistical modeling.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports based on analysis findings.
  • Document data analysis processes and methodologies for future reference.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate data analysis results into business processes.
  • Research and Innovation:
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in data analysis.
  • Propose innovative approaches to enhance data analysis methodologies.
  • Data Governance and Security:
  • Adhere to data governance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data security and confidentiality in all stages of analysis.
  • Continuous Learning:
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance data analysis skills.
  • Actively seek feedback and apply learnings to improve performance.
