Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • At least one year of experience with machine learning Algorithms
  • Proficiency in Spark, Databricks, AWS
  • Technical fluency in Pyspark (preferred), Python/Pandas, and SQL
  • Experience (professional or college-level) dealing with big data
  • Datarbicks savvy or eager to learn new technologies
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience building stories and narratives out of data
  • Collaborative skills – Comfort working across multiple business teams, including both technical and non-technical partners
  • AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Daily coding with Pyspark and SQL in Databricks to quantitatively explore AARP foundation data
  • Work on highly scalable ML models and algorithms in extensive data mining and machine learning models building
  • Present results of research, analysis, and models to the whole data analytics group
