Requirements

  • Interns must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Public Relations
  • Previous internship/work experience is preferred
  • Previous internship/work experience in writing and digital social media will be considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Comfortable with virtual collaboration and meeting software, including Teams
  • Ability to take initiative and the confidence to make suggestions for improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills that support collaboration and productive working relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interns must be able to commit to a 13-week work term starting May 20, 2024 to be considered for the program
  • Interns must be able and willing work 3-4 days per week in the Houston office (1-2 days per week remote) for the term of the internship
  • Successful candidate must provide satisfactory references, complete a Criminal Background Check, and be in compliance with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on social media content creation and scheduling for Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Ability and/or willingness to work with various software to create graphics such as Adobe products (Illustrator, InDesign, or Photoshop) and/or Canva
  • Assist with branding requests from internal stakeholders
  • Assist with keyword research and search engine optimization (SEO) analysis to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Assist with analyzing website traffic and user engagement metrics to identify areas for improvement using tools such as Google Analytics
  • Organize the digital asset library
  • Liaise with team members and other departments as required
  • Seek opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements
  • Complete and present an assigned project
  • General research and administrative tasks
  • Ad-hoc analytical assignments and reporting as required
