Requirements

  • Education: Must be at least in Junior standing at an accredited college/university. Preferable majors include IT, MIS, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Information System. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0+ and be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.
  • Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school, or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.
  • We would like the individual to have experience with Nested APIs, PowerBI and various visualization tools. The individual must also be comfortable with customer facing calls to explain technical offerings such as APIs.
  • Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
  • PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required. There may be opportunities to visit Distributor to explain offerings and get a better feel for their needs in the digital solutions space.
  • Preferred Skills: Data Retrieval and Data Analytics Skills; Ability to complete competitor research and market research.
  • Other Preferred Skills:
  • Coding Skills – Python/SQL/ R-Studio – All related to Data retrieval
  • People Skills – Being able to communicate to Distributors/Customers
  • Initiative – Being able to take initiative.
  • Creative – Finding/ Coming up with a solution that can be implemented to a certain extent.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the Komatsu business. Understand how we partner with our distributors and how we service our customers. Learn and engage with our systems, solutions, and industry applications.
  • Learn about our proprietary technology and what we are doing to continue to be an innovative and industry leading organization.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external partners such as IT, software vendors/developers, other Komatsu departments and subsidiaries and our parent company located in Japan, Komatsu Limited.
  • Support the Digital Solutions team with project work that enhances the functionality and experience of our e-commerce, telematics, and service and support digital applications.
  • Develop accurate reports, data, and metrics. Understand the extent to which our systems are being used and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
  • Intern will be responsible for completing Digital Solutions tasks, assignments, and projects according to deadlines.
  • Interns will be responsible for completing an Internship Project. Interns will own the project from beginning to end and present to Komatsu C-suite Executives and leaders at the end of the internship.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
