Requirements

  • Passion for retail and sustainability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Product Lifecycle Management software system is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously and success working well under tight deadlines
  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate global time zones
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Materials Science, Merchandising, Product Development or related field
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Ability to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship with possible evenings if necessary
  • This internship is a hybrid position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando Florida area and have reliable transportation to/from work

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaborative material reviews and approvals with cross-functional partners, primarily in textiles
  • Create and organize physical and digital library entries for textiles, trims, and labels
  • Create, track, and communicate requests in product lifecycle management system to Suppliers
  • Build and maintain reports and presentations on fabric consumption, development reporting, and progress towards sustainability goals
  • Improve data integrity through review of PLM inputs
  • Learn the role of Sustainable Materials Sourcing and how it relates to Disney Global Merchandise & Sourcing Development in Apparel, Home, and Plush products
  • Gain knowledge of the garment, sample, and fabric development process
  • Participate in special projects that support The Walt Disney Company’s 2030 Sustainability Goals
