Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.
  • Must have completed three years of study.
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of design software including Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, EasyPower, ETAP, Revit, SKM, and AGI32 software.
  • Previous professional experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out tasks.
  • Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of science alternatives.
  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
  • Design new and modifications to existing medium and low voltage electrical power distribution systems for commercial, government and institutional facilities.
  • Design of normal, emergency and standby power distribution systems.
  • Work on varying project types and sizes including laboratories, educational facilities, office spaces, mission critical facilities, and cultural facilities.
  • Complete electrical design calculations including system load analysis, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, coordination studies, voltage drop calculations, and lighting calculations.
  • Collect field data, complete field surveys, and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Perform construction administration tasks including shop drawing review, site observations, and RFI responses.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, EasyPower, ETAP, Revit, SKM, and AGI32 software.
  • Use of computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Coordinate design solutions with other design professionals.
