Requirements

  • Current student, working towards an undergraduate or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Experience in ArcGIS software & Python is preferred but not required
  • Experience in AutoCAD, PVSyst and or other renewable software platforms would be a must
  • Basic knowledge of solar PV systems, Energy modeling and energy storage systems would be a plus
  • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products would be a plus.

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
  • Preferred:
  • Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Review, identify and automate design engineering tools to help with creating efficiencies and improving overall design cycle
  • Work extensively within excel, AutoCAD and other modelling software packages to design conceptual layouts of utility-scale energy storage projects using value engineering approach in power block sizing, design of cable management and Medium Voltage (MV) AC collection circuits
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in collaboration with assigned engineer to document our baseline approaches to energy storage engineering designs
  • Research novel renewable energy technologies to help support EDPR’s energy storage pipeline across the global markets, with majority focus in US North American market.
  • Research and segment the evolving energy storage markets; present findings and make recommendations to energy storage team
  • Other responsibilities, as determined by the team
