Requirements

  • Students should be familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and CAD programs (i.e. AutoCAD). Familiarity with any of the following programs is a plus, but is not required:
  • Bluebeam
  • ArcGIS (and HAZUS)
  • Coastal modeling
  • Revit
  • InDesign
  • SketchUp
  • Mathcad
  • Structural analysis programs
  • Familiarity with relevant certifications (i.e. LEED, WEDG, RELi) is also a plus.
  • Incoming or current graduate students (Masters) in a resilience-related engineering and/or architectural program, who have previously completed an undergraduate engineering or architectural degree program, are preferred. Responsibilities

  • Research and analysis of the latest climate and resilience-related academic studies
  • Analysis of natural and man-made shocks and stresses
  • Climate change impacts analysis
  • On-site survey, investigation, and documentation of building conditions
  • 2D drafting in AutoCAD
  • Analysis and design of architectural or structural systems, with possible assistance on mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or plumbing systems
  • Review of existing project drawings and related documents
  • Code research
  • Drawing preparation and development
  • Powerpoint presentation preparation
  • Report preparation
  • Collaboration and coordination with other TT teams (i.e. Sustainability, Structures, Facades)
  • Assistance in project administration
  • Construction observation
