Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the design and accessibility of documents and the different types of products/materials used to communicate public health information.
  • Experience or interest in learning programs like MEDSIS, Canva, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, including Google Sites, Forms, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive and/or the ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.
  • Time management, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health communication strategies, health behavior, and health education theories.
  • Understanding of the social determinants of health.
  • Dedication to advancing health equity.
  • Strong skills in planning, researching, and analyzing.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will gain experience working in the Office of Environmental Epidemiology at ADHS. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program development and implementation. You will collaborate with the ABLES team to develop educational materials and resources, and support outreach efforts to raise awareness. You will also have the opportunity to work with other offices at ADHS to coordinate data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • You will be coached and mentored by the Environmental Toxicology Program Manager along with the Environmental Health Epidemiologist and others in the Office of Environmental Epidemiology by collaborating with them on projects.
