Requirements

  • Prospective fellows should be proficient in verifying user-generated content and be familiar with open-source intelligence techniques. Experience in script writing and video production is a plus. The ideal candidate will drive story ideas, be able to work autonomously and exercise sound news judgment.
  • This program is for early-career journalists. Applicants with more than five years of full-time, professional journalism experience beyond school will not be considered. The most competitive candidates will be college graduates or postgraduates or career pivoters of any age who have had multiple internships or equivalent experience in open-source intelligence and related fields.

Responsibilities

  • The fellow will work alongside reporters, cinematographers, video editors and motion designers to break investigative stories and cover the biggest news of the day.
  • The fellow will produce compelling, explanatory documentary and breaking-news videos.
