Requirements

  • Essentials needed for the positions that are similar across the above roles (these do not all have to apply to every single role)
  • You're a self starter, creative & curious to learn, and are extremely well organized
  • We're team players & you are too!
  • You have strong creative writing skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Communications, TV or Film, Production, Digital Media Studies, Journalism, Broadcasting, Screenwriting, etc.
  • Must be highly organized and very comfortable operating in a startup-style, fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments at once.
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergraduate student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
  • The Nice to Haves:
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is preferred
  • Food/culinary, lifestyle and/or factual media experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365
  • Knowledge of Slack
  • Experience working for a studio/network with digital entities
  • Interest in comedy
  • Desire to learn about the entertainment industry as a whole

Responsibilities

  • Join development meetings, pitch meetings, and team meetings and participate in show ideation.
  • Work on specific research projects
  • Develop and pitch a show concept in a network development meeting.
  • Join network executives on production meetings for current programming and attend pitch meetings with production companies
  • Watch and note cuts of current shows alongside network executives
  • Assist in the maintenance of department documents tracking new talent, development, current programming, etc. on the Master Tracker, Talent Tracker, and Production Report
  • Working on the Competitive Intel email
  • Being placed on a development project to observe the full process.
  • Annual Intern Project: Intern will research and present their own pitch. (pitch can then be used as a work example in future interviews)
  • Helping APs with keeping production schedules/shoot dates etc. updated on documents and in Deal
  • Assisting with our Development 1 meeting/ show tape
  • Collect show information for internal departments
  • A hands-on role on our team working in all aspects of production
  • Immerse yourself in the data around the videos you and others -- both on the team and at other publishers -- are making, and use that as a guide to smart decision-making for future videos
  • Keep track of trends in digital marketing and integrated video and suggest ways we can implement them in our own campaigns.
  • Traffic video cuts to internal stakeholders for review and feedback, assisting Producers with video note consolidation when applicable.
