Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a graduation date of December 2024 or later.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours a week) over summer.
  • Knowing the loads basics and being able to use existing procedures to solve basic engineering problems.
  • Familiar with MATLAB and Python.
  • Ability to work quickly and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.
  • Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder or a protected individual as defined 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be able to obtain the required authorization from either the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a Loads Engineer Intern. This position is with the Flight Sciences- Loads Engineer group. This position is in Tustin, CA. The intern must be enthusiastic with high energy and have a strong willingness to learn about static and dynamic loads. The candidate will also learn and support the mission control console, flight test planning, and flight test data reduction. As an intern, you will be working in the Flight Sciences team, which is comprised of Thermal, Loads, Aerodynamics, Aeroelasticity, and Mass Properties groups for the suborbital spaceship.
