Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Experience in geological and/or geotechnical core logging
  • Curiosity about structural geology and/or rock mechanic
  • Familiarity with data management (acQuire) and 3D modelling software packages (Leapfrog) is preferable
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
  • Able to build and nurture positive working relationships with individuals of a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Able to work effectively independently as well as with the team
  • Knowledge of common machine learning algorithms and scripting is considered an asset
  • Fluency in French is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Support the development of AI solutions for structural/geotechnical core logging by using advanced core scanning data
  • Working with consultants to improve the AI predictions and automated core logging, including a potential visit to the consultant’s main offices located in Calgary, Alberta
  • Assist with 3D geological model updates
  • Build and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
  • Engage with Geological, Exploration and Engineering departments
