  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master’s OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university following the potential internship or co-op assignment
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
  • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree concentration(s) in Bioengineering, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computer Science, or related area
  • Familiarity with protein design tools (e.g., Rosetta, ProteinMPNN, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Python
  • Familiarity with protein structure and protein structure visualization tools (e.g., PyMOL)
  • Background in computational protein design

Responsibilities

  • This internship explores protein design methods to combine the power of the newest machine learning tools for structure and sequence generation with the need for compact, stable structures in multi-state design. The successful intern will explore various tools and implementations and evaluate their performance in the single- and multi-state contexts. The final method(s) will then be applied to a novel design problem for conditional/allosteric activation.
  • As a Grad Intern at Amgen, you will:
  • assist the team in conducting research, preparing reports, and performing administrative tasks
