Requirements

  • Senior level student pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering or related major
  • Basic Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Enthusiastic about working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills along with organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous internship experience in manufacturing a plus!
  • Salt Lake City Internship Program Requirements:
  • Available to start on May 28th and work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA

Responsibilities

  • Support the evaluation and identification of process improvement opportunities on all manufacturing related activities in our operation through time study
  • Work on Kaizen Projects guided by an Industrial Engineer, applying Lean techniques focusing on cost reduction initiatives by reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process
  • Support Kaizen teams to measure and validate results from improvement projects
  • Help to develop management control systems to aid in Kaizen to Business Needs planning
  • Attend team meetings to support project work as needed
