Requirements

  • Ongoing enrollment in a management information systems, computer science, data science, or related program such as engineering with an emphasis in technology
  • Junior or senior standing with a minimum of one full-time semester of undergraduate or graduate coursework remaining after the internship
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and desire to learn
  • Strong team mentality with a willingness to assist where needed to contribute to the group’s success
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and follow-through
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Providing support for internal computer users in all offices, including testing, repairing, and installing hardware; troubleshooting hardware and software issues for individuals; and installing and upgrading user workstations
  • Providing support for Barr’s server, network, and cloud infrastructure environments
  • Supporting end-user computing, including virtual environments
  • Supporting project, design, CAD, CAE capabilities
  • Assisting with various document and data management efforts
  • Providing support to the Enterprise System’s team as they roll out an ERP upgrade
  • Participating in process improvements and special projects as assigned
  • Shadowing various aspects of IS and technology operations
