Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics or other quantitative field (will have completed second to last year of study prior to the start of the internship)
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of programming languages is a plus (e.g. Python, Rstudio, VBA)
  • Excellent oral and written English
  • Organized self-starter with good project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Assistance in distribution of ILS and other instruments (private deals and sidecars) to institutional investors in the Americas
  • Origination of marketing materials for sponsor meetings and calls
  • Identify and monitor capital markets trends in terms of products, price and available capacity
  • Responsible for recording and analyzing loss data/payouts for Catastrophe bonds
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Swiss Re's ILS distribution and origination strategy
  • Work closely with ILS team members on placement tactics
  • Prepare distribution pitches for new investment accounts
  • Publish periodic updates on the ILS market for investors and maintains Swiss Re's Capital Markets website
