Requirements

  • Proven knowledge of how passenger vehicles work, particularly regarding the mechanics of suspension, steering and braking systems
  • Coursework in mechanics of materials and rigid body dynamics at a university level
  • A desire to apply what you know, but also question every assumption
  • Hands on experience with CAD (CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Creo etc)
  • Experience with scripting tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.) for scientific computing and/or data analysis methods (e.g., signal processing, optimization, data representation, etc.)
  • Experience with CAN tools and data acquisition equipment
  • Coursework in vehicle dynamics at a university level
  • Participation and leadership in Formula SAE Electric, Baja SAE, or other extracurricular automotive teams is a major plus!
  • Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program at an accredited university
  • Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)

Responsibilities

  • Take one or more technical projects, related to suspension, steering, braking, wheels, tires, and/or vehicle dynamics, from idea through to completion
  • Apply data-driven decision making in a collaborative environment to solve complex problems and questions
  • Support other engineers on the team in data collection and analysis, component/system design, vehicle modelling and simulation, project management and logistics, and prototype vehicle fleet management
