Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • Must have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Background in international development/global health/communications/journalism preferred.
  • Must be available to work a maximum of 24 hours per week.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position will report to the Senior Manager, Communications with support from the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the FP2030 team in tracking current events and updates related to global health, development, family planning, or sexual and reproductive health.
  • Track webinars and other external events for the partnership and attend webinars for notetaking as relevant.
  • Support the Communications Coordinator in creating posts for the FP2030 Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
  • Support the Communications Coordinator in managing FP2030’s social media presence.
  • Assist the FP2030 team in conducting research and writing to contribute to various projects, including global events and convenings.
  • Assist in the creation of core communications products, such as the FP2030 newsletter, video projects, and blog posts,etc.
  • Work with the knowledge management team to assist with information organization.
  • Support the Communications and Advocacy Coordinator with the upkeep and organization of the commitments database.
  • Other duties as assigned.
