Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher required.
  • Interns must be enrolled in a four-year college/university or a Master’s/PhD program for the duration of the internship.
  • Looking to pursue a field in Cybersecurity, training, or instructor.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • A good writer – ability to document procedures/processes.
  • Very enthusiastic (can bring some “spunk” with them) and has positive attitude.
  • Must be able to speak clearly/succinctly as this role will be involved with presenting for webinars and presentations to colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to deal with multiple projects and priorities.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidential information to the highest degree.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the phishing program to all colleagues (this is an application that sends out suspicious emails to colleagues to see if they “click” on the bait - Example: Amazon gift card has arrived – click here, etc.).
  • Creating PowerPoint presentations for webinars to colleagues about phishing definitions, cybersecurity safety.
  • Assisting and possibly running a webinar for training on Information Security safety (what is phishing, smishing, how to remain secure online, etc).
  • Assisting with our annual events (October Cyber awareness month) by providing content and material for: crossword puzzles, challenge games, pictures/artwork, themes, etc.
  • Helping to develop content and material for our intranet site, when applicable.
  • Additional aspects of the role may include:
  • Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns.
  • Engage in volunteer activities/community outreach to build knowledge of our communities and customers.
  • Participate in department meetings and events (i.e. monthly Diversity and Inclusion events, department wide team building events, weekly meetings to ensure team alignment, etc.).
