Requirements

  • Experience in image and video compression
  • Inventor of the Low Complexity Optimal Parallel Huffman Encoder and Decoder
  • Chair of the VESA Display Stream Compression Task Group

Responsibilities

  • Develop code based on Finite State Entropy baseline C code to implement the Low Complexity Optimal Parallel Huffman Encoder and Decoder
  • Determine conditions for which the encoder and decoder are optimal as compared to: arithmetic coding, standard Huffman coding, asymmetric numeral systems (ANS), and finite state entropy (FSE) on a CPU.
  • Compare speed up on a GPU using CUDA
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
