Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field from ABET accredited program
  • Experience in mechanical design and drafting preferred
  • Strong 3D CAD experience, CATIA a plus
  • Hands on experience building mechanical systems preferred
  • Automotive, Aerospace, or heavy equipment industry preferred
  • Machine shop and fabrication experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to research information, solve challenging problems, and coordinate projects under tight timing constraints
  • Excellent fundamental engineering knowledge and have examples of applied engineering success through work, projects, or academic endeavors
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment: pro-active team player who thinks ahead, plans, and suggests solutions

Responsibilities

  • Create and present collision repair procedures to various engineering teams for review and approval
  • Review 3D models to determine repair feasibility
  • Interact with teams of engineers and collision center to define the root cause of issue being addressed
  • Review crash simulations
  • Identify and virtually assembling parts for engineering and supply teams to use in creating new/updated service parts
  • Perform hands-on investigations, lab tests, and validations
  • Time management of multiple high priority projects, simultaneously
  • Adapt to new and rapidly evolving computer software
  • Comply with all of Tesla’s safety rules, guidelines, and standards
