Requirements

  • Qualifications We Require:
  • You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizens, legal permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.
  • Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position.
  • Qualifications We Desire:
  • Pursuing a degree in a STEM field
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and strong self-initiative and self-responsibility.
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment; strong self-motivation and enthusiasm
  • Experience with and knowledge of materials characterization techniques
  • Demonstrated experience working safely in a laboratory setting
  • The ability to work independently and self-sufficiently as part of a larger team with high reliability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and assist with battery characterization and electrodeposition techniques
  • Learn and assist with post-processing methods of additively manufactured parts
  • The position would best suit a student pursuing a chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar undergraduate degree.
  • Responsibilities include material characterization, data collection, data analysis, and the ability to maintain a safe laboratory working environment.
