Requirements

  • Second or final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial analysis and modelling.
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to gather, analyse, and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, can present complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritises effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Prior internship experience in investment banking, M&A / corporate finance advisory, strategy consulting, or related fields is a plus.
  • Expected to be in the office 2 to 3x a week on specific days.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Development is a small, high-profile team, reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer and responsible for:
  • setting the M&A strategy and managing all acquisitions, disposals (end-to-end)
  • supporting on corporate finance matters (e.g. shareholder returns, defence & activism).
  • We have a significant amount of exposure to the Pearson CEO, CFO and other Board directors, and we work very closely with the Pearson Executive team and senior management in all our business units, together with a central Deal Operations team who drive integration and separation activities resulting from our transactions.
