Requirements

  • Very good university degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or a similar degree with quantitative background
  • Initial work experience, ideally in the financial sector (e.g. internships)
  • Knowledge of global capital markets is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills, programming skills and/or data analytics / machine learning skills (e.g. Python, R, Scikit-learn, SQL, C#, Matlab, AXIS, Prophet, Power BI etc.) are very beneficial
  • Experience abroad (studies or internship/work experience abroad)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to learn
  • Fluency in (business) English required, additional languages are an advantage
  • Curious and creative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Work on exciting and varied topics focusing on understanding, modelling and predicting capital market risk and returns
  • Learn to advance stochastic models, data analytics or ML/AI to derive tangible insights about capital markets
  • Experience the possibilities of a real market leader with modern infrastructure and a strong commitment to innovation (e.g. we have had a dedicated AI team since 2017)
  • Participate in an international assignment of three months to broaden your intercultural experience
  • Acquire profound knowledge of our business as well as further develop your soft skills in our distinguished global learning programme
  • Take the opportunity to quickly build a broad network of industry experts within Munich Re worldwide
