Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student majoring in political science, International Relations, European Studies, Security Studies, or a related field
  • All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
  • Knowledge of European Affairs, transatlantic relations, and U.S Foreign Policy
  • Prior internship experience, especially in nonprofit or think tank work, a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in European politics and security
  • Excellent research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in any EU language and/or German a plus

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of European affairs, transatlantic relations, and U.S. foreign policy
  • Conducting research as requested by the research associate and/or fellow on a variety of topics including the European Union, European security, the war in Ukraine, and European China Policy
  • Preparing research memos and assisting in the drafting and editing of written work
  • Tracking developing news stories in Europe, predominately related to European security with a focus on Germany, France, and Russia
  • Assisting with logistical support for meetings under the direct supervision of their supervisor
