Requirements

Minimum 3.2 GPA and pursuing an undergraduate or specialized Master’s degree with an expected graduation date of December 2024 – June 2025. Preferred fields of study include finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, engineering, or other related quantitative fields.
Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills.
Ability to communicate financial and economic concepts, in both oral and written form.
Self-starter who can manage multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Strong programming skills in one or more languages, such as C#, C++, Fortran, R, SAS, or Stata.
Experience doing empirical research with large datasets.
Must be authorized to work in the US. If you are an F1 student requiring sponsorship in the future, your program must be STEM and eligible for the 2-year OPT extension.

Responsibilities

This ten-week program will expose interns to the day-to-day activities of the Research group. Interns will gain an understanding of what it's like to be a Research Analyst at Dimensional, as they will be involved in projects that meet our firm’s current business needs. You will be expected to use your intellect, quantitative reasoning, and computational skills to identify and solve the various issues that arise in a fast-paced environment, working simultaneously on individual projects and team-based initiatives. Depending on what team within Research you are assigned to, projects may include the following:
Perform analysis on portfolios and prospective strategies;
Execute and analyze simulations for research on asset pricing models and economics studies;
Conduct empirical research related to Dimensional’s investment strategies and a variety of investment topics;
Review relevant academic papers and present findings to internal research teams; and
Work with other members of the investment and client services teams to answer internal and client questions.
