Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with a concentration in International Relations, Economics, or Latin American Studies
  • Students should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
  • Fluency in Spanish (with an emphasis on reading) preferred, Portuguese fluency a plus
  • STATA R work/internship experience is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills, including database experience, Microsoft Office Suite, and internet research skills
  • Strong research, proofreading, and editing skills

Responsibilities

  • Research specific areas for blog posts, articles, and other publications, with focus on Latin American politics, international trade, global supply chains and the U.S. government's industrial policies
  • Conduct research, write memos, and analyzing quantitative data
  • Assist in promotional materials and various tasks for fellow’s upcoming book
  • Collect news articles from U.S. and Latin American newspapers for a weekly news roundup
  • Assist in logistical support for meetings
  • Attend general meetings as time permits
