Requirements

  • Passion for building cool things, desire to be in the lab/shop
  • Pursuing a degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with harness design and system-level component selection
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and communicate complex technical concepts to team members of various technical backgrounds and abilities
  • Experience using test and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators
  • Lab experience: board level debug and rework
  • Experience with Python and familiarity with LabVIEW

  • Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols, for example CAN, LIN, ETH
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software
  • Familiarity with harness design and small run manufacture
  • Comfortable with CAD software and its product structures (CATIA/3DX preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Define and design system hardware and software interfaces and ensure they stay aligned with design criteria and lead its implementation
  • Select, size, and install actuators, sensors, and interfaces to support automated test apparatus
  • Schematic and system design and ownership
  • Build early concept examples to provide framework to test new concepts and inform workflow nuance to be passed on to downstream team members
  • Provide feedback and guidance to colleagues requiring electromechanical features within their products
