Requirements

  • Currently working towards a BS, MS, or equivalent advanced degrees in a relevant engineering program such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, or Automotive Engineering
  • Excellent first principles understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics
  • Strong background in linear systems analysis, observers, state-estimation, and first principles design and analysis of control systems
  • Project experience in a relevant area such as battery/powertrain thermal management, HVAC and thermal comfort, refrigeration/heat pump systems, or thermal control
  • Basic proficiency with embedded firmware development in C/C++ or similar

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop estimation and control algorithms for thermal management of the powertrain, battery, cabin HVAC, and heat pump
  • Build dynamic thermal system models in Matlab/Simulink/Python or similar and use them to develop and refine control strategies and drive their implementation
  • Work closely with firmware/integration engineers and perform on-vehicle testing to design, implement, test, debug, and calibrate your algorithms on our vehicles
  • Success in this role will help us drive forward the best customer-experience in terms of performance, range, NVH, and cabin comfort
