Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering program.
  • Current Junior or above.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; both written and verbally
  • Must be self- motivated, have good mechanical aptitude, and ability to work well with others.
  • Must be within commuting distance of work location.
  • Able to work part-time 12-20 hrs./wk during the school year and full-time during the summer.
  • Able to commit to the internship for a year or longer.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations on occasion for assigned projects.
  • Preferred:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with SAP and SAP Analytics Cloud

Responsibilities

  • The intern will collaborate with Engineering and Materials colleagues, analyze data, ensure functional locations of materials are up to date, contribute to the team by making recommendations for efficiencies and develop a model to demonstrate the impacts to plant operations and reliability. This position will also work with Engineering colleagues within the Supply Chain group on assigned technical projects.
  • The Nuclear Supply Chain team supports nuclear operations at each plant on a day-to-day basis for both short- and long-term planning. The primary area of focus for this analyst role is within materials management with an emphasis on technical research. Tasks are based around stocking strategies for components used in critical and safety plant systems, data analysis such as usage/forecasting, developing bill of materials for nuclear critical spares and important parts and critical component tracking. The proper tools and support will be provided by members of the supply chain team to allow for a productive and successful internship.
