Requirements

  • GCSEs: grades 4 and above are essential. (A to C under the old scoring system). You will need to have achieved at least a 6 in Maths and English (B).
  • A Levels / Level 3 qualifications: equivalent to BBB / 120 UCAS points.
  • You must be 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays 2024, have lived in England or Wales for at least 3 years and completed full-time education before the start of the apprenticeship.
  • Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a graduate solicitor apprenticeship and therefore are not able to accept Law graduates onto our apprenticeship programme.

Responsibilities

  • - You will spend 4 days a week working at the firm under the supervision of qualified lawyers and 1 day studying towards formal legal qualifications.
  • - Throughout the apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to spend time in several of our legal departments.
  • - You will be earning from day one.
  • - Plenty of support during your time with us.
  • - You'll be allocated a central point of contact for the duration of your apprenticeship, as well as a ‘buddy' who will be on call for any questions you may have about life at the firm.
  • - It's not all work here! We have an active social life and there are plenty of opportunities to participate in corporate responsibility activities as well as sports and social events.

FAQs

What qualifications do I need to apply for the Legal Apprenticeship?

You need GCSEs with grades 4 and above, including at least a 6 in Maths and English. Additionally, you should have A Levels or Level 3 qualifications equivalent to BBB or 120 UCAS points.

When can I apply for the Legal Apprenticeship?

Applications must be submitted by midnight on Friday, 15 November 2024.

How long does the apprenticeship program last?

The Legal Apprenticeship program lasts for six years, during which you will complete the Level 3 Paralegal and Level 7 Solicitor apprenticeships.

What is the salary for the Legal Apprenticeship?

The starting salary for Year 1 Paralegal is £25,000, which increases annually as you progress through the program.

Where is the apprenticeship based?

All positions will be based at One Glass Wharf, Bristol HQ, which is a five-minute walk from Temple Meads station.

Will I receive support during my apprenticeship?

Yes, you will have a central point of contact and a ‘buddy’ to assist with any questions you may have.

What happens if I succeed in reaching the final selection stage?

If successful, you will need to attend a work experience week from 17-21 February 2025 at our Bristol office.

Are there opportunities for social activities during the apprenticeship?

Yes, there are plenty of opportunities to participate in corporate responsibility activities, sports, and social events.

Is there an opportunity to become a qualified solicitor after the apprenticeship?

Yes, upon completion of the apprenticeship program, you will qualify as a solicitor.

Do you accept applications from law graduates for this apprenticeship program?

No, we do not currently offer a graduate solicitor apprenticeship and cannot accept Law graduates onto our program.
